Workshops
by Molly Pretzel
For pole camps, dance studios & movement spacesSomething different from tricks and traditional pole choreography.
My workshops bring together dance, movement technique, creativity and play. With more than 20 years of experience across different movement styles, I love showing dancers how much more there is to explore — from the smallest shift in balance to a completely new way of moving around the pole.
Some workshops are about learning my material. Others give you tools to create your own. Some are technical, some are playful, and some take us into a completely different dance universe. What they share is curiosity, attention to detail and the joy of discovering what your body can do.
Every workshop has a clear focus, but the exact material may change with my current movement universe, the group and the space. Most workshops are suitable for mixed levels and can be adapted to the participants.

Molly’s Playground
Creative Pole Exploration & Co-Creation
All levels / Adaptable
A playful, ever-changing workshop built around creative combos, movement concepts and shared exploration. Learn my material, then twist it, question it and make it your own.
-
Welcome to my playground — where pole becomes a place to explore, experiment and create together.
Each session starts with something I bring into the room: a movement concept, a creative combo or a particular idea I’m excited to explore. From there, we play with different entrances, exits, variations and possibilities. You’ll learn my material, but you’ll also be encouraged to make it yours — and sometimes we’ll discover something together that none of us had planned.
Inspired by the spirit of parkour jams, this workshop is about curiosity, shared learning and the fun of finding new solutions. Expect creative low pole movement, flow, transitions and whatever playful movement ideas fit the session.
Come curious. Leave with more possibilities than you arrived with.

Molly’Ography
Sneaker-First Pole Choreography & Dance Fusion
All levels / Adaptable
Dance-driven pole choreography inspired by whatever movement universe I’m currently obsessed with — from Hip Hop and Latin to Y2K, groove and beyond. Expect sneakers, personality and a lot more dance than tricks.
-
A little bit of pole, a whole lot of dance — and whatever song I currently can’t stop listening to.
Molly’Ography is my choreography universe, where I bring influences from different dance styles into pole. Expect a dance-driven approach with movement vocabulary, groove, rhythm and creative choreography rather than a traditional trick-based pole routine.
Most sessions are created with sneakers in mind, but you’re welcome to explore the material in socks or pole heels if it works for the choreography. Some combinations may be less suitable for heels, and I’ll let you know when that’s the case.
The flavour can change from session to session: Hip Hop, Latin, Y2K, Britney, break-inspired movement or something completely different. Have a specific vibe in mind? Let me know. Otherwise, I’ll surprise you.
Learn the choreography, discover a new movement language, and make it your own.

Flow Lab
Creative Movement & Freestyle Tools
All levels / Adaptable
A practical creativity lab using freestyle exercises, constraints, music, energy and movement principles to expand the way you move. Less “what move comes next?” and more “what else could I do here?”
-
You don’t need more moves to become more creative. Sometimes you just need more ways to use the ones you already have.
Flow Lab is a practical movement laboratory designed to give you more options when nobody is telling you what to do next. Through guided freestyle exercises, creative constraints and movement experiments, we explore how to break habitual patterns and discover new possibilities.
We might create a flow without using our hands on the pole, experiment with different body parts as sources of energy, explore how momentum travels through the body, or use the same simple movement with completely different music. Partner exercises and co-creation may also be part of the process.
Along the way, we work with movement principles such as weight transfer, frame, connection, rhythm and energy — not as rules for how your dancing should look, but as tools you can use to make your own choices.
Leave with a bigger movement vocabulary and more confidence in your ability to create.

All the Dance Sh!t Nobody Taught You in Pole Class
Dance Technique & Movement Skills for Pole Dancers
All levels / Adaptable
Turns, balance, weight transfer, footwork, axis, grounding, rotation and all the dance technique that can completely transform your pole movement — without adding another trick.
-
You’ve learned the pole moves. But has anyone actually taught you how to dance?
This workshop dives into the dance techniques that can completely change the way you move around the pole. We explore the small, technical details that make movement feel more controlled, dynamic, creative and delicious — without needing to learn another crazy trick.
Depending on the session, we might work with turns and pirouettes, balance and axis, alignment, tilts, weight transfer, grounding, travelling, footwork, coordination, levels or dancey jumps using the pole. I also love borrowing ideas from other dance styles, such as Latin and Zouk, and translating them into new possibilities for pole movement.
The focus is on understanding how movement works, so you can take the principles into your own dancing rather than simply copying another combination.
Because sometimes the most exciting thing you can learn is how to turn better.

Flow à la Molly
Creative Pole Flows & Transitions
All levels / Adaptable
Come learn a selection of my current favorite pole flows — creative, weird, smooth, dynamic, sharp or whatever I’m into at the time. No bigger agenda required: sometimes a really good flow is enough.
-
A selection of my favourite flows, served fresh from whatever movement universe I’m currently obsessed with.
In this workshop, I bring a collection of creative pole flows for us to learn, explore and enjoy together. We’ll break down the details, find the little things that make the movement feel good, and spend time actually dancing the material.
The flows may be liquid, sharp, dynamic, rolling, quirky, soft or a little bit of everything. Some may connect into a longer sequence, while others stand beautifully on their own. The exact material changes with my inspiration and the group.
This is not a freestyle lab or a choreography workshop with a fixed theme. It’s a chance to learn some of my favourite creative flows and discover new ways of connecting movement around the pole.
Sometimes you don’t need a bigger lesson. You just need a really fucking good flow.

Lowkey Acro
Playful Acrobatics, Balance & Flow
All levels / Adaptable
My softer, more playful take on acrobatics: low dynamics, balance, handstand-inspired movement, kicks, kips, macacos and flippy-looking things broken into approachable progressions and flows.
-
Acrobatics doesn’t have to mean throwing yourself into the biggest flip you can find.
Lowkey Acro is my playful approach to acrobatic movement on and around the base of the pole. We explore a mixture of dynamic and controlled skills, with an emphasis on accessible progressions, creative possibilities and finding ways to connect the movement into flow.
Depending on the session, we might work with tornado kicks, small pole-assisted jumps, macaco variations, cartwheels, kips, slides, balance elements, creative handstand-inspired movements or things that look a little more flippy than they actually are.
We’ll break skills down into manageable steps, explore different variations and, when it makes sense, connect them into creative sequences. The goal is not for everyone to achieve the same final move, but to find a level where you can understand, practise and enjoy the movement safely.
A little bit ninja. A lot of play. And absolutely no need to be a trick machine.

Off The Pole
Ground Control
Movement Mechanics, Balance & Ground Skills
All levels / Adaptable
Learn to use the floor as an actual movement tool through pressure, push-off, landing, balance, rotation and weight transfer. Concrete skills become a way to understand principles you can use far beyond one move.
-
The floor isn’t just something you move on. It’s something you can use.
Ground Control explores how our relationship with the ground creates movement. Through practical exercises and concrete skills, we investigate pressure, push-off, landing, weight transfer, balance, rotation and the ways we can use the floor to create and redirect energy.
We might explore a turn, a travelling movement, a cartwheel variation or another grounded skill — and then look at how the same principle can be transferred to a pole, a partner or a completely different movement.
The workshop combines movement understanding with actual skills you can take home. You’ll get to learn some cool things, but more importantly, you’ll begin to understand why they work and how to build on them yourself.
Learn to use the ground as a tool, not just a place to put your feet.

Mobility, Body Awareness & Sustainable Movement
All levels
A holistic workshop about taking better care of the body you want to keep moving in — combining self-care, mobility, alignment, range of motion and smarter training habits.
-
You can’t expect your body to keep showing up for you if you never make space to show up for it.
This workshop combines self-care, movement education and practical mobility work to help you build a more sustainable relationship with your training. We begin by looking at the basics that support our lives and our movement — such as sleep, food, hydration, connection and the ways we take care of ourselves — and reflect on where we might need to make more space for our own needs.
From there, we explore how to work with the body more intelligently. Depending on the session, we may look at range of motion, active mobility, posture and alignment, pelvic movement, strength through different ranges, or how to use your warm-up to gradually develop mobility rather than simply chasing flexibility as quickly as possible.
The focus is on understanding movement principles, respecting your individual capacity and finding practical things you can take into your own training. This is not a rehabilitation or injury-treatment workshop, but an invitation to become more curious and intentional about how you use your body.
Take care of the body you want to keep dancing in.

Hip Happens
Latin, Dancehall & Body Movement
All levels
Explore just how much you can do with your hips, pelvis and torso through Latin-inspired movement, dancehall, twerking, rhythm and groove. Technique first, delicious movement second.
-
There is so much more you can do with your hips than you think.
Hip Happens is a playful, technique-based body movement workshop inspired by Latin dance, dancehall, twerking and other groovy movement universes. We explore how the hips, pelvis, torso and the rest of the body work together to create rhythm, movement and expression.
Through accessible exercises, we might work with grounding, weight transfer, hip movements, isolations, rotations, timing and the different ways movement can travel through the body. We may also bring the ideas together in a short choreography or movement combination.
The focus is not on mastering one particular dance style, but on discovering new ways to use your body and understanding the principles behind the movement.
Come discover just how much those delicious hips can do.

Depending on the session, we may work with basic grooves, footwork, rhythm, travelling, freezes or playful break-inspired floor skills. The workshop combines technical understanding with practical movement, giving you tools to explore the style without needing previous experience in hiphop or breaking.
